Many elements of Tech Town are already in place. The City of Dayton has acquired 30 acres for Tech Town and has control of an additional 25 acres. Demolition of old structures has begun and a "Tech Town Campus Master Plan" has been created following a thorough site analysis.
The Entrepreneurs Center, a technology business incubator located within Tech Town, is filled to capacity. Weston Solutions, Inc., an environmental remediation company based in Pennsylvania, will move 30 employees to a new 48,000-square-foot Tech Town building in the spring of 2007. Also scheduled to move into the same building are Quantrum LLC, an information technology company currently housed in The Entrepreneurs Center, and Diamond of Ohio LLC, a technology consulting firm currently
Many "green building" techniques are being utilized in the design and construction of Tech Town. The term green building refers to ecologically friendly standards aimed at lessening a building’s impact on the surrounding environment as well as prolonging that building’s life. Examples of green features include natural lighting, energy-efficient window and door fixtures, rooftop gardens and extensive outdoor landscaping. In addition to being eco-friendly, these types of features will help attract tenants by setting Tech Town apart from other office developments.
